My name’s Jamie Finlay. I’m an award-winning Sound Designer and Composer based in Manchester.

Over the last 15+ years I’ve built a unique creative practice working in games, immersive, installations, animation, and film. From working in-house a with AA game studios, to running my own audio production company and working as a freelancer.

Now I work with creative studios, artists, and storytellers on projects where sound and music are pivotal to the experience. I’m particularly drawn to artistic projects that marry creativity and technology, generative sound and music and game audio tech. My work has garnered numerous accolades including a prestigious ASCAP/Sundance Composer Spotlight, Best XR/Immersive Art Award (BFI London Film Festival), a Lovie Award, multiple FWA Awards, and official selections for Sundance Film Festival, DOK Leipzig, International Film Festival Rotterdam, and Manchester Film Festival.

In 2024, I released my debut album Sun Dogs to critical acclaim. Blending spiritual jazz, soul, electronic, and cinematic influences, the release received heavy radio rotation on BBC Radio 6, Jazz FM, and NTS, with DJ support from Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan, Deb Grant, and Craig Charles. I’m also a committed mentor, guest lecturer, and public speaker, having worked with organisations like Creative UK, Salford University, School of Digital Arts, Royal Northern College of Music, and Tileyard UK.
